What Citeveriq results mean, and what they do not mean.

Version 1.0, effective 10 October 2026

Independent opinion

Citeveriq evaluation scores, classifications, certificates and awards are Citeveriq’s own independent opinion of a journal’s publishing practices. They are based on the published methodology and on the evidence available to us at the time, and they may change when evidence changes.

Not an impact factor or indexing

The Citeveriq evaluation score is not an impact factor. The Citeveriq citation indicator is calculated by Citeveriq from open data and is not the Journal Impact Factor™, which is a metric published by Clarivate in Journal Citation Reports.

A Citeveriq listing, score, certificate or award does not mean that a journal is indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, DOAJ or any other database, or that it is approved or recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), any university, funder or government. Always check such claims with the organisation concerned.

Journal Impact Factor, Journal Citation Reports and Web of Science are trademarks of Clarivate. Scopus is a trademark of Elsevier B.V. Other names are trademarks of their owners. They are mentioned only to explain what Citeveriq is not; Citeveriq has no affiliation with them.

No guarantee

A listing confirms only that a journal’s identifiers and basic details were checked when it was listed. Neither a listing nor a high score guarantees the quality of any article, the conduct of any editor, or the suitability of a journal for a particular purpose. Readers, authors and institutions should use their own judgement.

Third-party information

Some directory data comes from publishers and from open sources such as OpenAlex and DOAJ. We check key details but cannot guarantee that all third-party information is complete or current. Please report errors so we can correct them.
